Comforting Others
When you were down and blue,
God always comforted you.
So when you see a hurting friend
All you need to do is lend
A helping hand out to them;
When they have a problem.
Remember they are important to God, too,
And He will comfort them through you.
All it takes, on your part, is a little effort,
So that you may be of some comfort
To someone in need;
And you will be a friend indeed.
When someone is troubled
Their problems seem doubled.
Then you reach out
To who is in doubt.
It helps to be there
When all they have are tears.
If you comfort and console
That person will again feel whole.
You’ll give them courage
As you continue to encourage.
God will help you comfort others
As you treat them as sisters and brothers.
When it is a stranger
Don’t think of the danger.
Think of helping him
No matter how grim
It looks like to you
God knows what to do.
There will always be a patrol
Because God is in control.
He would not have
Placed him in your path
If God knew He’d have
To use His wrath.
There is always someone
Who thinks that everyone
Knows they have a problem.
Then it’s best to let them
Come to you; so be ready
And always be friendly.
God will send people to you
And you will know what to do
Because He will help
You save them from themselves
Just think this might even begin
Their lives of being born-again.
2Corinthians 1:3,4—Blessed be the God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Psalm 139:3—You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am.
